A bit more about Kim…
Plants and gardening have been some of Kim’s lifelong passions. Kim is a retired special education teacher and has been a Hennepin County Master Gardener for six years. When Kim moved into a townhouse some years ago, she had to rely on planting amazing containers all over the porches, deck and patio of her home to satisfy her gardening passion.

Random Acts of Gardening has been chosen to be a part of Spirit of Hope’s Ministry as a service to our community. In the spring of 2014, Kim launched the 501(c)(4) Nonprofit Organization. This is a Minnesota-based endeavor. Random Acts of Gardening is dedicated to helping people connect with nature, learn more about plants, and have their day brightened through randomly leaving lovely container gardens at their front steps. Individuals can be nominated to receive container gardens by submitting the necessary information(name, address) at There is no fee, and anyone can be nominated – a friend, a neighbor, or anyone who would enjoy having their day brightened. Go to today and discover testimonials, container gardening care and design tips, and forms/guidelines for submitting names!
