Fresh pretzels will be served after the service. Why pretzels? With simple ingredients of salt, yeast, flour, and water, pretzels became a go-to snack for Christians following strict rules on fasting during Lent. The twisted shaped was intended to mimic someone’s arms crossed in prayer.
